Baltic Sea -
Steep coast and beaches with fine, white sand, bays and fjords that force their way inland, the friendly sea, villages with seaviews, comfortable, modern seaside resorts, exciting amusement parks, cosy fishing ports, and international harbour cities - the Baltic Sea region with its many facets has been the Germans' dearest "vacation-spa" for generations. The Baltic Sea reaches from the Danish border to Travemuende - 383 km in length. The tip of the iceberg is the beautiful Island of Fehmarn.
North of the regional capital Kiel, the largest passenger ship harbour of the Federal Republic of Germany, the fjords cover the area with Flensburg Fjord, Eckernfoerde Bay, and Kiel Bay. To the east the coastline continues with Probstei, Hohwacht, and Luebeck Bay, where one well-known seaside resort lines up after another.
Sea Coast has something to offer for every taste: historic mansions,
parks, cultural cities, idyllic seaside resorts, modern amusement
camping sites right next to the sea and various accommodations.
